Maltiben Maheshwari was candidate for Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections 2017 from Gandhidham. She had previously held the position of Councillor of Ward 8, Gandhidham. Maltiben was a first time candidate for this seat and was going to fight an election through reserved seat. Our role was to handle election campaigning from the social media side.
Project Brief
Portraying Maltiben as a young, female leader as was the center of our social media strategy. Platforms used included Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For most of this election campaign Hindi & Gujarati were used. Interacting with people of Gandhidham through social media gave Maltiben advantage that the opponent didn't leverage. Photographs of malitben engaging during rallies and village visits resonated with the audience on facebook. Time table of rallies were shared via social media so people could meet Maltiben. People problems were heard via facebook messages and were forwared to Maltiben's team.
